I bought this in wide and even in wide the shoes were extremely narrow. I imagine the non-wide version would be 2-dimensional. It also had a very hard sole and felt like I was running in football cleats.

Supposed to be wide…had wide tag on them. They were super narrow. Weird
EddieAtlanta –
I have the speedcross wide and it is extremely tight. It is too bad that they do not make a double wide. Because the “wide” is not wide in the least. I can only wear them for a few hours.
The R –
Shoe is well made, looks great. Unfortunately the wide isn’t wide enough. More of a me problem than Salomon. I wish they hade an even wider fit shoe.
Fazal –
it claims “”e- wide”” width but its even tighter then even regular size.

These shoes are great. I have several pairs in several color combos. Be warned: the photos of this shoe and on the Salomon website are not true to reality. The shoes are not blue + white + red, they are blue + cream + orange.

I really don’t understand. The reviews for these are so awesome and I was super excited to get my pair today. Unfortunately the fit was very very awkward.
I wear size 9’s no problem and got 9 wides since I read these run a bit narrow. These shoes are quite a bit longer than any of my other size 9 shoes and my toes are pretty far from the tip. I’d try to size down but these shoes are actually incredibly tight all around. I even got 9EE wide! Lastly, the inside edge of the shoe is very hard and comes up high so that it bumps against the inside of my ankle. I’m not a picky shoe person at all, but quite honestly these are probably the least comfortable shoes I’ve ever had. Shocked no one else seems to have my issues =(

I bought them a month ago and they’ve been ok! The insole is not as durable and comfortable after days of use..

My friends and I have been wearing Salomon’s to play the highest levels of softball for over 10 years. We have consistently found that the fit is comfortable, even for long weekends with 10+ games. The grip is amazing on dirt, clay, outfield grass, artificial turf and even on wet days. I have NEVER had a shoe fall apart, rip or deteriorate even after punishing them in temps as low as 17 degrees and as high as 118 degrees (Vegas, Palm Springs). Easy on and easy off with the best quicklace system I have found. Would like to see a bit more color variations, but that’s just personal preference. I wish we could get someone local to sell/distribute these…everyone asks how to buy them on the spot.

Received as a replacement for a previous defective pair. The 2 things I noticed-the heel seems narrower, could be extended for more side/side stabilty in future, and the white (Grey show) are silly, just keep an incredibile shoe simple, clean and without unneeded graphics.

Bought this shoe specifically because it was advertised as waterproof. It is not, socks are drenched every morning from the few on the trail. Comfortable and good traction, but not waterproof

These are my third pair of Speedcross. I use them for hiking, trail running, dog walks, and disc golf. Great fit and comfort. Best traction I have found, also high quality very durable sole material. Will buy another pair when they wear out.

I’ve worn several trail runners from various brands and always wanted to give Salomon’s a go. I’m glad I finally did! My Speedcross’s are incredible. They fit well without any hot spots (I have medium-width feet). My usual trails are undulating terrain of loose and/or hard-packed gravel and mulch-like trails. I never felt like the soles were going to lose grip. I even gave these a go in 6 inches of snow and they performed much better than expected. I think I need a GoreTex version now to keep water out.
It’s going to be difficult to stray away from these now!
P.S. I also added a 3/4 boot version and am just as satisfied with them too.

I found these shoes about 2 years ago and haven’t bought any other shoes since. I have had about 5 pair now. I’m on my feet in construction all day and they are very comfortable from the box. As a trail runner they do have aggressive tread and do tend to hold mud. No complaints so far!
Footlooker –
My favorite brand for cross trainers. I do light hikes and daily walks with my dog in these and they’re great. I’ve had several compliments as well on the nice style as well.
CLA61 –
These are great shoes. The fit great, are comfortable, and are very functional. Very happy with the quality of Salomon shoes. This is my second pair and this is my new favorite brand for footwear.

Comfortable out of the box, no break-in needed. Withstood a 2 day hike through sand and mud in Utah nicely. Rinsed off the crud and looks brand new. Color choices ok, but miss some of the previous generations of high-contrast colors versus the monochrome theme on these.

I have an A width foot and the Speedcross is one of the few shoes that fit me out of the box. I have been wearing this model since the speedcross 3

I’ve owned my SpeedCross 6 shoes for a year now. I ordered them for a Spartan Trifecta weekend, I did not order the Gortex version because I wanted the shoe to drain water well and they did. The shoe had excellent traction in the mud and snow that weekend and I was glad to have bought them. They clean and dry very easily and the shoe was very durable. The only reason I did not give a 5 star review was because of the tread wear. I can’t have more than 30 miles on these shoes and the tread is almost gone. While I wish I could get more then a year out of the tread I fear a harder tread would compromise traction which is one of the best traits of this trail shoe. I’ve ordered my second set for this year’s Spartan race.

My Sense Ride 4’s were showing their age, and needed a replacement. I have spent the last 2 winters (In icy cold Edmonton, Alberta) running on a pair of Cross Spikes with the built in studs, AMAZING shoe for winter runners by the way. So I thought I’d give the Speed Cross a try, as they are a non-spiked version of what I have been loving. This logic didn’t disappoint as they fit well, feel supportive and provide me with a good balance of cushion on the trails, as well as feeling connected to the ground. Right out of the box I took them on a 12km trail run in the river valley and it held its own on a bit of pavement to get out of the neighbourhood, some compact dirt, roots and loose rocks, and even some frozen (and on the way back home thawing) mud, as well as a bit of snow and ice. Excited to run my first trail Ultra in them in a couple months! *Can’t give a durability rate as I’ve had them less than a month, so will leave it in the middle at 3 stars. Otherwise, amazing shoe.

Had various other Salomon model shoes but this one works best on my Oak/Pine, rocky/muddy/sandy trails in the California Sierra foothills. Sizes pretty true, I went a bit larger to wear thicker socks in colder weather and tighten for thinner socks in hotter weather. This model does not ‘baby’ your feet and ankles like the thicker soled models so really builds your muscles and tendons to handle mountainous terrain.
Masterchief948 –
I bought these to try as golf shoes and they work wonderfully! Looks like I have a new shoe line for golfing.

Very nice shoe…width doesnt feel like “D”..too snug of a fit
T.H. –
I bought these for my son. Although the support was excellent, we had to return them because they were a tad too narrow for his wide feet. He requires shoes that have a wider toe box. If you have average width feet, these would be perfect for you.

My second pair of Salomon Speedcross’ — great shoes for trail running, or in my case, running through all kinds of parkland attached to a beagle chasing squirrels. Great grip even in wet weather, good support, and easy to clean. Only annoyance is that the little plastic handle on the pull-closure tends to loosen after a bit and can slide. Has no impact on the ability to tighten the shoe, it’s just mildly irritating because you have to manually re-center it.
