clarks wallabees for women – make them FOREVER, please –
First wore these shoes in San Francisco in the early 1970s – best ever for walking the hills. Now, 30 years older and back in northern California, slowly recovering from complicated ankle surgery, I’ve ordered a new pair today – and I’m so pleased these shoes are still around since they look terrific and are GREAT for feet! Thanks so much.

Overall, a Terrific Shoe –
I love the way Wallabees look and the thick cushy sole is very comfortable. If they came with a slightly wider toe box I would wear them all the time. I wore out a pair of suede ones, and the leather ones are a huge improvement and will last forever. They look great (the narrow top seams make your foot seem narrower than most other “comfort” shoes) but after several hours my bunions are screaming. Still, if you have a medium to narrow foot and no bunions, these are the best! The leather is taking longer to stretch out than the suede ones did but I will keep wearing them in any case!

Can stains be removed?
I got a pair of Wallabees for Christmas and absolutely love them! But I accidentally got some lotion on one and it left a mark…any ways to remove it?

I LOVE THESE SHOES!
I’ve had my shoes for about 3 years now and for the first year I didn’t really wear them because I bought them too big but then my feet grew a bit and I wore them. they are the most comfortable shoes I own. I wear them almost every day and will soon need to buy a new pair! I would definitely recommend these to everyone.

Great shoe – very comfortable and versatile. Well-made, too. This shoe is roomy, but I don’t regret ordering my normal size – it’s not so big that it’s uncomfortable or causing blisters. (I wear size 11.) I love the retro look of this shoe and I much prefer the suede to the leather version.

I had been wanting a pair of Wallabees for sometime now and finally got them for Christmas! I have been wearing them everyday since and love them, the gummy sole is so comfy. A little advice. Do not wear them in the rain! Also, sizing is a bit tricky, the back of the shoe is wider then the front, i got a half size smaller than i usually wear and they fit perfectly.

I really liked the “Brown Wallabees” because they don’t get as dirty as the tan ones. But you could at least make it where they have more support. I mean come on if you’re paying this price for a pair of shoes you expect them to be suitable for you! 🙂

Love these shoes! I agree with some of the other reviews that the toe box is a bit narrow, but luckily with just a few wearings the shoes stretched out and are now really comfortable. Very happy with them.

I was disappointed that these had very rigid leather uppers and hard-as-a-rock soles. They look so comfortable in the picture! Sent these babies back lickety-split!

I love these shoes. I do a lot of walking, so they are very comfortable. I miss all the cool colors they use to come in.

These shoes are comfortable but it took 4 weeks to break in. I like the style and color but wished it came in black. This is meant for narrow feet and it is great as a casual dress shoe.

Zappos is the best! This is the 2nd pair of Walabees I’ve ordered from here, I ordered them on Monday and had them Wednesday, same week! Excellent products, fast and free delivery!

My Mom calls them Grandma shoes but I disagree! I love my Clarks! I used Penguin brand water repellant and I sprayed the shoes about three times. It does not work against jean rubbing unfortunately but luckily mine are not too badly blue. I ordered half a size smaller than what I usually wear (I bought 7½, and I usually wear 8) and they fit perfectly.

So very comfy! Because the back of the shoe doesn’t come up very far, my heel tended to slide out a bit at first. But with a pair of heavier socks, the shoes are perfect.

I recently bought both the high top and low top Wallabees. I always have at least one pair to wear in the garden. They are very washable – set them out to dry in the sun and they’re like new. Don’t know what to say about style; they are what they are.

On my second pair of these now after wearing them everyday for a year. A great cross between fabulous comfort and classic style for the tasteful and subtle dresser. Super practical yet not ugly for someone who needs to look good and be active frequently. In my line of work, I am on my feet for 8-12 hours a day, and I’ve never come home with any feet or back pain. When you break them in, the leather literally molds to the shape of your foot, becoming uniquely your shoe, and yours alone. Quite enduring, considering how much I push them (biking a couple hours on them daily, taken a couple 3-5 mile runs with these on cement and dirt paths, walking a TON as everyone does in New York, standing for many hours during work, etc). The first thing to go (after half a year mind you) are the edges of the soft cheese sole, which are great for shock absorption especially on hard cement sidewalks, but less great if you tread on many sharp surfaces like gravel roads. Otherwise, best all around shoe I’ve encountered in a while.

A tip for breaking in the thick leather of the beeswax finish: put them on with thick socks and heat them with a hair dryer on high, then walk around the house till they cool. You have to get them all the way warm — but it really works.

They should call these the “cat burglar” shoes. Quietest shoe I’ve ever owned. I got the Chocolate Suede. I normally wear 7.5 to 8 but based on reviews, I got the 7.5 and they are perfect fit. Super comfortable right out of the box. Don’t really need a breaking in period. I have a fairly high arch and these provide excellent arch support. The small wedge sole gives me and my pants just the right height. Will be buying these again!!

These are very comfortable except for the fold in the inside side of the tongue. I have tried thicker socks and layers of moleskin, but the thick crease still bruises the top of my foot. Does anyone have a fix? I’m ready to take a pair of scissors to them….

I’m obsessed with these! My normal size in just about every shoe is a 6. After reading reviews I decided to order a half size down, which was a mistake. They were too little. So I ordered my normal size, a 6, and they fit great! No slipping on my heel at all. If you’re not sure what size to order just go with your normal size.

I used to wear Wallabees in the 80s and never had a fit problem, but now I find that my heel slips around. I tried going down a half size and wearing thick socks and that still didn’t solve the problem. I wish these shoes had a narrow width.

I know some people think Wallabees are kind of ugly, but I absolutely love them. I have three pair. They are super comfortable. They run true to size. I am a 7.5 and that is what I always wear in this shoe. Recently ordered the maroon color and they are super cute. Just maroon enough to be fun, but not too crazy.

I’ve worn wallabees for the last 20 years and they’ve always been my go-to fall/winter shoe. I currently own a beeswax pair that I purchased through zappos in 2012 and decided that it was time for a new pair. I was so disappointed when they came in the mail. Clarks has made some significant changes to the shoe and not for the better. Overall, the shoe just feels cheap now. They no longer have a removable foam insert. The insert is now sewn into the actual shoe and it does not go all the way to the toe, it stops about half way up. The leather does not feel as thick and even the shoelaces have been downgraded.
As always, Zappos has amazing customer service and I returned the shoes with zero problems.

I bought the wallabee bootie and this shoe, same color, both 8.5. The footbed was different. The liner went only halfway underfoot (stopped around the ball of the foot) for the shoe. I like arch support but the shoe felt odd. The shoe footbed was much wider than the boot and I had some gaping around the foot. The suede was more brushed, more rugged with the shoe. I kept the bootie as my foot fit more securely. Clark’s makes a less expensive version of their own wallabee, called Padmora. I have that in black and honestly find it more comfortable (shoe version) so I’m going for that version plus the wallabee boot for styling. Overall, this is a cute shoe but super wide. I may try again one day of they bring a brown suede version. Photos shoe boot next to shoe, boot on viewer’s left in both pics. Black Clark’s Padmora next to show, also.

The crepe sole is pure joy BUT insole hurts horribly !!! It’s only half way through ( heel side )which causes a lump right at the bottom of the ball of your foot. Just standing in my kitchen for 10 minutes had my feet aching. Very sad because I wore these all the time back in the day, they lasted for years. I sent these back until they realize the insole needs to be full sized, I’ll buy again then
