I now know what “rugged” means for this sandal. I tried a size larger as I have an ankle issue and have to wear ankle support. The lower strap hit right on my big toe joint bone and was very uncomfortable. I love Birks but not this pair. I am returning it

These Birkenstocks are wider than the normal bird, otherwise, I like the sole!

The color was awesome but the sole was just too hard and the leather too stiff. For these reasons, I will be returning. They are rugged for sure.

I’ve been wearing Birkenstock size 39R for thirty years. These were too big and felt very unbendable. The color is more of a grayish blue, not the brighter blue shown in the picture. I am returning these.

Love the color. The style is great but they are made on a regular/wide mens last. I have been wearing Birks for 40+yrs and typically the women’s sandals fit perfectly. These are just not wearer friendly for females unless they have a wide foot. Would love to see the reduced got s womens last.

This is a great shoe for the outdoors – I wear it everywhere. It molds to the foot and the sole is no skip which is helpful. It looks nice and it is very comfortable.

These shoes run very large. I always wear a 41 and these were huge. Clearly seem to be made for men.

Love that they make a “regular” width which is probably wide for lots of women, but as a woman with a wide foot this fit perfectly. I find with the Arizona’s I go a size down from my normal size in length to get it comfy although that might not be universal. I love these shoes — wish they made more fun colors in the regular/wide width and not just in the narrow width arizona.

Ordered usual size…had to return it for next size smaller. Smaller size felt good. leather is a bit stiff to start but softens with wear.

Love Birks….NOT these but for the look…..Too hard, bigger than usual in length, width for a Sz 40. Return!

Shoes are not near true to size. They were at a minimum three sizes too long and do not come in a smaller size.

The footbed is too hard and uncomfortable. It does not mold to my foot like regular sole birds. Very uncomfortable.

I have many pairs of Birkenstocks. These started out as quite a bit stiffer than others I have ordered. I have been wearing them for days in and out of the house and the straps over my foot are finally beginning to soften a bit. They now feel pretty comfortable. Aside from the need for longer break-in period, they fit true to size and the color is great. I cannot comment on how well they will work for walking on rougher ground but the soles do look like they should have more traction than the regular Birkenstock sole.

I usually wear 8.5 shoes and these fit in 38–the 39s were too large, they seem to run a little big. I liked the sturdier feel of these compared to the normal Birkenstock sandals. I have old buniony feet and it’s hard to find sandals that are comfortable, and the regular width in these feels good, even more comfortable than the regular Birkenstock sandal style. I haven’t walked long distances in them yet, but have high hopes! I also like the look of them, they definitely don’t look more clunky than other styles of Birkenstock sandals. I tried on six different pairs of Birkenstock sandals and these were my top choice. Recommend.

The rugged Arizona is cut larger than my previous pair of Birks that had thinner straps and smaller buckles, particularly in the width, but they still fit okay. Oddly, even though they are cut bigger, I am in the 2nd to tightest hole for the buckle which seems a little loose, but the 1st hole is too tight. I think as they stretch and give, the tightest hole will feel better. I do find that the larger straps aren’t as comfortable across the top of my foot as the thinner straps. Hoping they get better as they are more broken in. I do like the heavier rubber soles because I do a lot of walking with 2 dogs and hope they will hold up better than my last pair with the standard rubber sole (only lasted 2 years) for the price.

Uncomfortable, painful. You could feel the bottom of the sole as you walked. I very seldom wear anything but Birks, work, pleasure, lol, I live in them! I thought the sole on these might last longer, um yeah because I won’t be wearing them! They are the most uncomfortable Birks I’ve ever had. I broke them in for 2 weeks and they still hurt my feet. They look great but that’s it. Just terrible!!!!!
