Many years ago now, when I bought my first of many Atom jackets, the salesperson at the outlet sale told me: good choice, you’ll live in this. I have. Grt for so many situations and weather, this is probably the key Arc piece of them all, a tough call to make!
Datawraith –
Bought this jacket for fall and spring use. Very comfortable, lightweight, and packable. Materials are very soft to the touch, seams and stitching are perfect, cuff and stretch panels are of high quality materials. Very warm for its weight while remaining breathable.

I am on my third Atom – first one was loved so much by my son, I ended buying another. An unfortunate leave behind after a transatlantic flight and well the third was purchased. Super light, warm but not bulky. Cleans easily – I wear one daily as a top layer in MN and as a midlayer while skiing. Best jacket to hike the Highland bowl – put your Sabre in the pack and climb! This might be the best fitting mid-layer I own!

I’ve had this for a year, and it’s become my go to. Feels structured and substantial enough to keep me warm, also light and breathable enough to manage fluctuations in temperature. Great all around jacket for a wide range of activities

I have heard great things about Arc’teryx’s Atom LT. I have been a long-time fan of the Atom SL, a piece I use every day. However, in some outings, especially late fall winter, or early spring, the SL isn’t warm enough. The Atom LT comes in for those chilly belay or cold bouldering outings where I just need a little more. Arc’teryx’s Coreloft insulation is just right: it regulates temperature when I start building up heat but dispenses it so I’m not sweating through. The LT fits nicely under a shell in case the weather heads south but as a stand-alone piece, it’s great. Even after some hard abuse, the jacket stands up. I wish I had one earlier.

This is an excellent jacket for just about anything. I use it as a stand alone during cooler weather but also works great for layering. I like it so much I have 4 or 5 of them in different colors or the hoodie version.
Rob16 –
Just got another Atom jacket to replace one that is now too big – it’s versatility as a layer and a jacket on its own is unmatched, for hiking to around town.

This is my Fifth Atom product I now have three jackets and two Gillets in different colours. You wont find a more versatile pice of clothing, I wear mine all year and never get too hot and never too cold. The quality of craftsmanship is second to none, every seam is well made and strong. Comfort is also outstanding and with the stretch panels in the sides makes for a comfortable experience. I have washed my older versions many many times and if you just spin and hang they come out like new every time and dry very quickly.
I absolutely love my Atoms they are my go to every time. try one you wont be disappointed. Thanks Mark

I got this jacket for my dad 4 months ago and had to get one for myself. This jacket is so warm and light and yet incredibly tough. Was a pretty good deal as well

Very well-made, good for traveling as it’s light yet so warm. I would say this is a great outer layer for shoulder seasons or even for winter if the weather is not so harsh, imo wearing this as mid layer would be suitable only for skiing or a very cold winter days as it’s super warm by itself.

I bought this jacket last month and I wore it on a cold night and I was impressed by the style of that jackets it was light on me but it protects the cold breeze it like me wear a thick sweatshirt
BigBirdBobby –
I bought this as a stand-alone jacket to wear to and from work. Low 40’s in the morning is nothing with this jacket. It’s warm, thin, and moves with you. I don’t need another layer for the Ohio cold yet. And probably won’t with this jacket.
RobFul –
Great jacket and layer when the cool weather arrives. Room enough so I can vary the layers underneath and continue wearing the same jacket. Breaths well and also looks sharp. Bought for around town, hikeing and travel – can’t be more happy with the purchase.
TheCoops –
Exactly what I was looking for! A great light weight relatively warm jacket. It is easily worn as mid layer but is also great as an outer layer when not too cold. Plus it’s stylish enough to wear on the street!

This is my second jacket. Replacement jacket that was 6 years old.

Breaths well while being warm. Works stand alone or as a layer.

Love this jacket as a skiing midlayer as well as a sharp jacket around town. Also great to hike in in the offseason. Warm, but still fairly breathable and comfortable

I’ve had an Atom for 10 years? I love it it’s my go to jacket.
Very well made easy care jacket.Light weight durable warm and looks great

Whether its a mild day around town or you need a mid layer, the atom jacket is a great piece for everything. I like to wear it as a mid layer for skiing or under a beta, as i love the fact it has no hood. However it also is good in 5-10 degrees.
Carlos87 –
First Arc’teryx jacket for me and very pleased. It’s warm and stylish. The only thing I have to say is that the sleeves are tad bit too long (and I have long arms).
Otherwise an excellent piece!

What an amazing mid layer, turns out to be way more versatile then I had originally though. Because it is so comfortable, I wear it as a daily coat to run errands. It transitions so well from cold car to warm store. I have also worn it under my sports jacket to get that nice protection on that chilly train platform. But most importantly, it’s a perfect compliment to my Beta AR hard shell or Hellium soft shell. I still prefer a fleece mid like a Kynite for more active hikes but the Atom is spot on for those colder days. Huge thanks to Adrian at Square One store for helping me pick the right type and size.
ArcyluluSD –
Happy with it. This is one of the only jackets in the category with no hood it seems. I live in San Diego so dont have a need for hood. This jacket is great for the 50-70F temps. Sometime’s I’ll wear a down vest under this if its close to the 50s. I like that it is vented at the sides. You can definitely feel it if youre going fast on a bicycle, scooter, motorcycle, etc. You can feel the air coming in at the sides. I like the fit too its slim without being overly slim. I can still wear layers underneath.
ERic –
Great warm jacket for mid layer. It is warmer the my Patagonia but also has venting on the sides under the arms which is nice to reduce moisture buildup

One of the key pieces for all my adventures. I love it so much I bought one for the city and also the Atom light (fyi atom light fits a little snugger). Surprisingly warm for the weight. Also breaths well and packs down nicely.

As with this brand, you pay for really great stuff. Currently using it on a small ship cruise in the Greek isles. It is a great windbreaker and it looks good. It should last a long time and justify the investment. It looks great, too!
